The Mega Millions jackpot on Friday was estimated to be $54 million, with a cash value of $39.4 million, but did anyone take home the top prize?
The winning numbers were 14, 17, 28, 29 and 44 with the Mega Ball 2 and the Megaplier 4x, according to the Mega Millions website.
Nobody purchased a ticket that successfully matched all white numbers and the gold Mega Ball, meaning that the jackpot will go even higher for the next drawing on Tuesday.
In addition, no one matched five numbers for the second biggest prize of $1 million on offer. However, there were 26 winners of the $10,000 prize after they correctly chose four of the white balls and the gold Mega Ball. Of those, eight quadrupled their winnings to $40,000 for purchasing the additional 4x Megaplier.
Some 436 players won $500 by matching four numbers and, of those winners, 110 won $1,000 by using the Megaplier. Additionally, 1,158 people won $200 by matching three numbers and the Mega Ball, and 230 of them increased their prize to $800 using the Megaplier. In total, over 545,000 tickets won at least $2 last night.

With no winner of the top prize, the jackpot has now gone to $68 million for Tuesday's drawing with a cash option of $49.6 million.
Last month saw the second-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history with $1.05 billion ($776.6 million cash) going to a ticket holder in Michigan. It followed a record run of 37 draws and was only less than another billion-dollar jackpot—the $1.537 billion won in South Carolina on October 23, 2018. This is the world's largest lotto prize ever awarded on a single ticket.
How does Mega Millions work?
One of the most popular multi-states lotteries in the country, Mega Millions first launched on August 31, 1996 as 'The Big Game.' Tickets are sold in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Video slots games. Virgin Islands. The five states not to sell lottery tickets are Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah.
Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at WSB-TV in Atlanta by host John Crow.
Five white balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70, with one gold Mega Ball drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25. With nine different ways to win a prize, your chances of winning at least $2 are 1 in 24, according to the Mega Millions website.
If you are a lucky winner, you will have between 90 days and one year to redeem your ticket, depending on local rules and regulations. All jackpot winners are entitled to either a cash option or an annuity option of an initial payout followed by 29 annual payments that are each five percent larger than the previous ones. All prizes are subject to income taxes.

How to Play Mega Millions®
STEP 1
Get a Mega Millions playslip from your favorite Texas Lottery® retailer or create a play using the Texas Lottery app.
Select five (5) numbers from 1 to 70 in the play area of the playboard or mark the 'QP' box and the terminal will select your five (5) numbers. OR, simply ask your lottery retailer for a 'Quick Pick' and the terminal will pick all your numbers!
Pick your Mega Ball. Select one (1) Mega Ball number from 1 to 25 in the lower yellow play area of the playboard, or mark the 'QP' box and the terminal will select your one (1) Mega Ball number.
MULTI-DRAW
You can play the same sets of numbers for more than one drawing. Mark the appropriate 'MULTI-DRAW' box to play up to 10 consecutive drawings.
WHEN YOU BUY, MEGAPLY®!
Play the Megaplier® feature for an extra $1 per playboard and you could increase your non-grand/jackpot prize winnings by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times!
Mark the 'YES' box under 'MEGAPLIER' to select this feature for all playboards on the playslip.
The Megaplier number will be chosen from a field of 15 numbers according to the following frequency: one 5, three 4's, six 3's, five 2's. Any non-Grand prize you win on a Mega Millions play will be multiplied by the Megaplier number drawn if you purchased the Megaplier feature.
